National Beta Club is a nationally recognized academic and service-based honor society in which members must maintain a 3.50 unweighted GPA and follow the four pillars founded by the club: Service, Character, Leadership, and Achievement. 

Mrs. Leah Perkins Brown is Brunswick County Early College High School’s Beta Club Sponsor. Mrs. Brown said about her work with the Beta Club: “I love helping students become their best selves and spreading joy to our community.”

On September 13, the BCECHS Beta Club Chapter held its 2022 Induction Ceremony in which 43 students were inducted into National Beta and five new officers were installed: Haylee Johnson, Josie Tharp, Jason Zheng, Dallas Russ, and Katelyn Bennion. Mrs. Brown and Principal Denise Absher gave remarks at the ceremony regarding the club’s success. They expressed their joy in working with the club during their speeches.

Cake and lemonade were served at a reception following the ceremony. It was a great evening full of celebration of student success.
