On Tuesday, April 18, the 51st Annual Odell and Virginia Williamson Oratorical Scholarship Contest was held at The Coast in Bolivia. There were four female and four male contestants. The topics were headline topics of the day including, “Sexism in Sports” by Morgan Bellamy, and “Overturn of Roe v. Wade” by Angel Webber. On the male side of the contest, they addressed issues such as “Why Puerto Rico Should Become the 51st State” by Bryan Baez and the unknown elements awaiting graduating seniors.

The female winner was Dallas Russ who gave an excellent presentation on “Civility in America.” The male winner was Dimitry Williamson whose presentation was about “The Mental Health Crisis in the U. S.”
