The Leland Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a National Day of Remembrance at Founder’s Park in Leland. This marks the 22nd Anniversary of the attack on America. VFW Post 12196 was founded in 2020, and hosting this event was one of the first efforts of the new Post. Post 12196 has been hosting this event each year since.
This year’s event will be highlighted by a performance by the Brunswick Big Band which will perform a 30-minute program of patriotic music. Brunswick Commissioner Frank Williams, Leland Mayor Brenda Bozeman, Fire Chief Rodney Hayes, and Leland Police Chief Jeremy Humphries will be the speakers.
