The Beta Club Induction at Odell Williamson Auditorium welcomes 32 new members into Beta Club.
On Tuesday night, September 19, 2023, Beta Club held their induction ceremony at Odell Williamson Auditorium. Beta Club is a club based around service, achievement, leadership, and character. To be inducted into Beta Club, you must have a 3.5 GPA or higher.
The ceremony began with introductions of the new officer holders describing each pillar of Beta Club. The current officers of Beta Club are Katelyn Bennion as President, Zoe Strattman as Vice President, Gregory Fisher as Secretary, Yanisa Keck as Outreach Coordinator, and Megan Shumaker as Marketing Director. Each officer placed a candle for the four pillars of Beta Club; service, achievement, leadership, and character.
All new inductees recited the Beta Club pledge to take full ownership of being a part of this club. Later, each inductee was called to walk across stage and receive a certificate and a Junior Beta Club pin from Katelyn Bennion and Principal Denise Absher.
After the new inductees walked across stage, former officer holders Haylee Johnson former President, Josie Tharp former Vice President, and Jason Zheng former Secretary ask new officers to take an oath of membership to serve their club to the best of their ability.
Many inductees and their families enjoyed the ceremony. Juliannah Schultz, a sophomore who was inducted as a Beta Club member states the induction ceremony was, “very quiet and respectful.” Leah Brown, the teacher sponsor of Beta Club shows her appreciation of everyone involved and states, “I am so proud of all the inductees, officers (new and old), and our volunteers for making this night a success. This was the best turnout we’ve had at an induction ceremony and I appreciate the inductees and their families making it a priority to be there.”
We welcome these new Beta members to Beta Club. They will help service our community, achieve great things, act as leaders to others, and exemplify strong character.
