Every year Burgaw, NC decorates to the top for Christmas. They put up a huge Christmas tree each year, light it, and celebrate on November 25th at 6 pm. They always have hot chocolate, etc. They always do it after Thanksgiving because Christmas will just then be starting. It’s not just Burgaw that does it; most of Pender County does it too, like Surf City, Topsail, and Hampstead. They do it in New Hanover County also! It is always fun to watch your town get festive for the holidays. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, it’s always nice to get together for the holidays!
