As I walk in the valley,
The mountain casts shadows upon me.
The wind brushes the grass ever so gently to the south.
I follow the wind current as it leads me to a meadow.
The meadow is filled with flowers of all kinds,
From daisies to lupines.
I run with the butterflies as they take me to a river bay,
A haven for all creatures.
The river has all kinds of animals,
From moose to bear.
I follow the river current as it takes me to a bridge.
The brick structure stands strong.
Many weeds form a path along the rocky terrain.
I follow the pathway as it takes me to a tree.
Not just any tree, but an ancient redwood tree.
The tree holds many memories,
From birth to death, it has seen it all.
I take a seat on a nearby stump and admire the tree.
It stands strong, stronger than the bridge.
It is a safe haven for many lives, safer than the river.
But most importantly, it holds beauty.
More beauty than the meadow.
