In the heart of Central America lies Costa Rica which serves as a safe haven for adventure seekers. Students from BCECHS have been given the opportunity to see this vibrant place on an amazing journey for discovery with Ms. Askue and Mrs. Leonard from June 30 to July 8, 2025. All participants will participate in activities like visiting hot springs, touring Arenal Volcano National Park, going on a night walk at the Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve, and so much more. Visiting destinations such as Arenal, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio everyone will be able to fully immerse themselves into the culture in a way that isn’t always possible.
This would be Askue’s fifth time traveling with students and because of it, she’s gotten to know students better and see so many amazing things. This is Leonard’s first time being a group leader, despite that she has traveled to a number of places as a travel agent or just for herself. Both Leonard and Askue can’t wait to see somewhere new and share that with students.
Freshman Peyton Shaw is “excited for the hot springs and to have fun in the warm weather.” Since she’s traveled all her life, it only makes sense for her to go on this trip. Peyton and I are excited to be able to spend time with each other outside of school to have new experiences.
From food to art to animals, there are so many different things to experience and learn about the culture in Costa Rica and we are very grateful to have this opportunity to experience it. Even though our adventure hasn’t begun, our excitement will continue to build and fuel our anticipation.
