Miya always loved taking walks to relax, not very long walks as they got boring, but she would willingly walk for days with her dog. She occasionally walked her dog in the woods. Her dog always got so excited. He jumped at everything, sniffing something, jumping at trees, or trying to chase a squirrel down.
In the present time, Miya is walking along a log used as a makeshift bridge when she hears a screech almost like a bird but a lot louder and a lot angrier. Miya froze for a second when hearing it, but she just brushed it off considering all animals have a predator and it most likely was a bird. She hadn’t heard every single bird’s screech before. Keeping that in mind, Miya hesitantly took another step forward and kept walking like she hadn’t heard it. As Miya walked, the more it started to smell like blood and rotting flesh. Miya was very tempted to go back but it would be longer to go all the way back. It would be easier if she just finished the trail and then went home. Besides she’ll probably just walk right past it. It’s probably off the trail in the grass or a tree.
As Miya gets closer, the smell is stronger and there’s a lot of mist. Miya could faintly see the outline of something with eight legs, a tail, and wings. As Miya got closer, she saw what it was. It looked like a spider-bird-leech-scorpion. A spider as it had eight legs, a bird as it had wings but looked more like a reptile or a dragon with wings though it had no feathers, a leech as it had rows and rows of small sharp teeth, and a scorpion as it had a scorpion’s stinger, and it was coming towards her. As the spider-bird-leech-scorpion got closer, Miya noticed it didn’t have any eyes. She thought, “Then how did it know I was there?”
Of course, all animals must have something enhanced, that’s just great. As the “thing” got closer, Miya noticed it wasn’t hostile. It started sniffing her, trying to figure out who or what she was. As it continued sniffing her, Miya closed her eyes. Even though it seemed non-hostile doesn’t mean it couldn’t turn hostile. The spider-bird-leech-scorpion then shot its head up and seemed to turn hostile.
“Can it read my mind or something,” Miya thought. It then tried to attack her. Turns out the creature wasn’t fast; it was just big, strong, and blood-sucking.
This is a really bad situation. Miya is hiding in plain sight. Her back is against tree bark, as she is trying to stay as still as possible. If she moves, the creature will either hear her moving or the leaves crunching. The creature got closer and closer to her until it stopped, turned around, then sprinted off. As soon as the creature left, Miya’s dog came running toward her while barking, then tackling her, leaving Miya to wonder, “What just happened?”
