There’s a new place in town to get a haircut that’s a cut above the rest!  Z’s barbershop, located at 1026 Appleton Way, is open for business. The shop faces Village Road, but you access the strip of businesses where Z’s is located by going through Mill Creek Development (take a hard left as soon as you enter.) 

The owner, Dylan, was a barber in Pennsylvania for several years. He took a job with Verizon in the sales department and was transferred to Leland. As soon he arrived, he knew Leland was a good place to call home and pursue his dream of opening his own barbershop.

But Z’s isn’t your typical barbershop—this is a nod to the type of barbershop that our grandfather’s frequented. They offer “hot” shaves with a straight razor and hot towels for $30.00, beard trimming for $15.00 and haircuts for $25.00 (seniors over sixty and kids nine and under pay $20.00.) They also do design work.

There are five barbers on duty who are skilled in various types of hair and techniques. Their work is precise and detailed. 

And, good news, ladies, if you have short hair and are just looking for a simple cut (no layers, no color), they welcome you to the shop.

The shop is very modern and bright, with TV’s over each station. It is very clean and larger than your typical barbershop and smells of leather and mint.   

This is a cash only establishment, just like in your grandfather’s day (they do have an ATM.)  So,  head over to Z’s and get a hot shave and relax. You won’t regret it.
