The mind of a Librarian needs to be studied because they are the most imaginative and creative beings!
You just have to walk into the library for a second to feel the love and passion these librarians have for books and education. The library staff of William Clarke College don’t mess about when it comes to book week and these five days were not wasted. The theme this year is Reading is Magic.
For Primary, Monday looked like a lunchtime of listening to Mr. Smith read a book in the library followed by a Book Week challenge in their classrooms. The Secondary had the opportunity to partake in a Harry Potter Trivia in the library at lunch.
How exciting for Primary school on Tuesday, because a guest author came to visit and engage with the students at William Clarke! And again, there was another fun Book Week Challenge in the primary classrooms.
I’m sure parents had a difficult time getting their kids to sleep on Tuesday night because they were too excited to sleep in anticipation of the book week parade the following day. Following on from this was visiting author crafts in the library at lunch and then another Book Week challenge in their classrooms. Man, what a jam-packed day full of adventure!
But it doesn’t end there, for on Thursday the 2-day Preppies had their parade in the morning! The Primary school had another reading from Mr Smith in the library at lunch and you guessed it – another Book Week challenge in Primary classrooms.
Don’t worry the librarians haven’t forgotten about us Secondary, for we have book club in the library at lunch!
The fun continues on the last (but definitely not least) day of Book Week on Friday! The Primary school will engage with Jumping Frogs fun in the library at lunch while Secondary partakes in Manga Mania drawing in the library at lunch. And A little drum roll for the last activity of the day for Primary school………. Book Week Challenge in classrooms!!!!!!!
Every year without fail, they work their magic and execute the theme of book week through countless activities and poster ideas and this year is no different. Every Librarian across the nation especially the ones at William Clarke, give yourselves a round of applause and a pat on the back because you ate and left no crumbs Legends.
