While it is true that identical words can be used as nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and prepositions, each is identifiable by its placement in sentences, clauses, and phrases.
Adverbs are easily differentiated from other word classes. An adverb is a part of speech that modifies another adverb, a verb, or an adjective.
