We wish y’all a Happy Holiday Season 2024!
Welcome to the Teen Scene Editor’s Corner where you will find a brief preview of several creative articles in this edition.
Our teens are busy writing, with several recording podcasts as part of our tri-county audio/video program. If you missed it when released on November 12, you can view WTSI Season 1, Episode 1, on YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9wb1WJdSY8
And view a podcast by Violet A., Teen Scene Freelance Writer, “I Missed You at Belville Riverwalk Park…”
Get in the spirit of the holidays by reading Teen Scene’s freelance writers and intern stories. This month several of our teens reported on charitable organizations benefitting the Cape Fear Region throughout the year but especially during the holidays and family holiday traditions. Be sure to read “Brunswick Family Assistance” by Giuliana M., “Operation Christmas Child” by Kaleigh A., and Violet A.’s story, “The Importance of Family During the Holiday Season.”
Are we “glued” to our cell phones? Are we witnessing a subtle form of brainwashing? Our Australian contributor Nicholas C. wonders if before we have time to think about something, our cell phones tell us the “correct” answers or opinions. Read “Why bother thinking for yourself”
“A Talking Tree?” See Lila D’s mysterious story and “MAZE” by a new Teen Scene writer, Victoria S. You will enjoy reading how Haven P. contrasts “Humans and Animals.” All three writers are students at Leland Middle School.
North Brunswick High School’s budding poet Isabella B. returns this month with an updated version of “Easy to Chew.”
We welcome new writer, Sophie H., from Wilmington Christian Academy with her perspective on, “The Rights that Made Us.”
