Well, here we are in 2025! We hope you had a joyous holiday season and look forward to this year being one of our best.
As always, our thanks to contributing writers: Maryann Nunnally, Dan Neizmik, Nancy Bryans, David Hume, Victor Fernandez, Lisa Mote, Cammeron Batnides, Doug Ensley, Katie Steve, Chuck Bins, John Gozzi, Janet Stiegler and Brendan Connelly. Remember, authors, we are publishing again on January 15th, so if you don’t see your story on January 1st, you will see it later in the month.
The new year is bringing new changes to Cape Fear Voices, so be aware:
- We have discontinued the use of our Post Office Box (495) as of January 1. All Cape Fear Voices/Teen Scene correspondence should now be sent to: 1159 Willow Pond Lane, Leland, NC 28451.
- Starting this month, we will be publishing Cape Fear Voices frequently during the month. Creative stories will still be published on the 1st, but if you have something else to add or ran out of time to meet the 1st deadline, we are also publishing stories on the 15th of the month. Community news will be published daily and time sensitive events will be published in advance of the event date.
- Our Cape Fear Voices Awards Banquet will be held on April 12, at Blossoms Event Center at Magnolia Greens Golf Course. Don’t miss this important event. Come and see what our teens have been doing this past year and how they have grown in their skills. Our theme this year is “Tomorrow’s Voices Today.”
- Sponsorship opportunities for the Awards Banquet are now available. Contact Gerald Decker at [email protected] for additional information.
- The Banquet will feature a “Sponsors Table” where your marketing information will be available to banquet attendees. We are not having an auction this year, but we are still having raffles, a great dinner and dynamic presentation.
- We previewed a “Flipbook” version of the December issue of Cape Fear Voices to accommodate our readers who find a magazine version easier to read than the website. We are looking for feedback from you on this new feature and suggestions on how you would find it more appealing.
We have some funny and thoughtful stories in this issue. It’s a new year–make it a good one!
