Brunswick County, NC offers various STEM projects and programs, including the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC) program, STEM S and STEM-focused events like the “STEM in CTE” event for middle schoolers, all aimed at increasing student engagement and proficiency in STEM fields.

21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC):

This program, offered in partnership with Brunswick County Schools, is a STEM-based after-school program that provides hands-on activities, enrichment activities, and parent engagement, with a focus on increasing student proficiency in core subject areas. 

STEM SENC:

The University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) has a STEM Learning Cooperative (STEM LC) that capitalizes on campus and community partnerships to develop and deliver STEM learning opportunities for students, families, and educators.

STEM SENC Mini Grants:

STEM SENC supports STEM education through mini-grants, allowing teachers to create and share STEM lesson plans and video

 Brunswick County Schools “STEM in CTE” Event:

Brunswick County Schools held an event where 6th graders from every middle school participated in hands-on STEM activities led by high school students completing Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, along with STEM professionals.

Robotics Programs:

The Friends of the Library Southport & Oak Island (FOLSOI) and Kiwanis have sponsored robotics programs at the Barbee Library in Oak Island.
