CALLING ALL GARDENERS!!
Join us online April 17- April 26, 2025, for our Spring Online Plant Sale!
As the old saying goes, “Spring has Sprung”, and the beauty of nature in our region is all around us. It’s time to get out in the garden, enjoy the warmth of the sun, and get your hands dirty!
The Brunswick County Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association has curated a list of plants for sale which will make great additions to your garden. Drawing on research from North Carolina State University, including recommendations from NC Sea Grant and other well-known resources such as the NC Wildlife Federation, NC Audubon Society and the NC Native Plant Society, we are offering a variety of plants. These include hard to find and unique native plants. In addition, you will also find in the list some customer and Master Gardener favorites.
Specific attention has been given to offering a selection that is native to our coastal area, supports pollinators, and is drought and salt tolerant. The list includes perennials, vines, grasses, shrubs, and small trees that would be suitable for areas in your yard where you want to support birds, butterflies, bees and other pollinators and grow plants that are deer resistant. Several of the plants offered would be suitable for rain gardens, stormwater management, and xeriscaping. With proper care, these plants should provide you and the pollinators with years of satisfaction. If you have questions about the proper care, you can easily consult the North Carolina Extension Plant Toolbox at https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu or staff at the Brunswick County Extension Service. The Plant Toolbox contains detailed descriptions and photographs of 4,659 plants that grow in and around North Carolina.
Join us for the sale by accessing our Plant Website at https://bcmgva.org beginning April 17th. Here you will find the list of plants including a description with basic information such as plant height and bloom time. Photo links are included which provide a look at the plant at maturity. You can click to fill your shopping cart and pay at checkout with PayPal, Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover and schedule a time for pick up.
The website will be open for orders on Thursday, April 17 at 9:00 am until Saturday, April 26 at 11:59 pm. Pick up is on Friday May 2nd from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Brunswick County Extension Office, 25 Referendum Drive, greenhouse area behind Building N, Government Complex, Bolivia, NC 28422.
Enjoy the convenience of shopping from home while supporting the work of the Brunswick County Extension Service and a community of fellow plant lovers.
