Moon Poem

Orange Moon, Black Night
Dan Dodge

As I sit alone,

waiting for something magnificent to happen,

I turn to the moon.

The one who has seen evolution as a whole,

And never spilled any of his secrets.

The one that carries the weight of the universe,

And never complains.

The one who we turn to in times of need,

For guidance and hope.

But who does the moon turn to?

For the sun is too far away to be of any real condolences.

And the stars are too playful to be helpful in his time of need.

So in the night sky, when you look to the moon,

Let him look back.

Listen.

And if you are lucky, you’ll be the one to hear him say

“Stand here with me.”
