I am so excited to host the 5th Annual CFV/TS Awards Banquet with Gerald Decker and Nancy Bryans on April 12.  Please read my story, “The Cape Fear Voices Teen Scene Awards Banquet,”  for all of the details and get your ticket!  It promises to be a night of fun and new directions.

We are featuring a new writer this month, Caroline Bailey.  Her story, “The Healing Power of the Ocean,” makes many of us remember why we moved here.  Lisa Mote shares her views on  “The Elixir of the South,” while Dan Neizmik explains his version of “A Really Good Life.”

Jan Morgan-Swegle is now the President and CEO as well as  the Editor of Cape Fear Voices.  She has been writing for CFV for more than  4 years.  She is originally from Strongsville, Ohio, (a suburb of  Cleveland)  and moved down to Leland 13 years ago.  She and her husband, Tony, and their dog, Dixie, enjoy sitting on the lanai listening to music and sharing wine (Dixie likes white wine but only gets two finger tips full!!)  They have 3 children and 9 grandchildren living in Olmsted Falls, Ohio,  Charlotte, North Carolina and Lakeland, Florida.  Jan always dreamed of being a writer and Gerald Decker helped her make that dream come true.  She hopes to continue Gerald’s dream of leading Cape Fear Voices/Teen Scene on a successful journey.
