Sunflower

By:   Sue Cadell

I am the flower

Of the sun,

A sweet inspiration

To all and one.

VanGogh’s canvas gave me

Sun, fields, and life,

Though his toils

Were filled with strife.

I can calm

Any “gal” or “fellow”

With my colors of

Brown, green and yellow.

Standing tall in the garden

Close to sunset,

My day’s been filled

With promises kept.

Then dawn greets the morning

Bringing sun so warm-

Blue skies, clouds, rain-

Take charge of my charm.

Life is good-

As a flower, a tower-

I will bring you in

With my wave of sweet power.
