Bill is an Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Memphis and moved to Leland in 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is working on his memoir that tracks his journey from a South Philadelphia housing project to Vietnam and then to a college professor. He lives with his wife, Renée, in Leland, N.C.
