The Light in the Fog

Art inspired by: Lee Ann S.

Emmy B.

Time flies by far too quickly, but even faster to those who don’t stick.

Their minds in fog and their hearts in pieces. It’s something that their brain now teases.

They feel lost and they feel weak, as they wonder if they’ll ever reach their peak.

Their world feels dark, their world feels cold, and most feel that they won’t grow old.

Their fragile hearts shatter like glass, themselves and their memories fading too fast.

Their kind smiles and warm touch leave this earth without very much.

A string meant to be long but soon cut short, no one expects anything of the sort.

Their world now dark and filled with gloom, and now flowers rest at their tomb.

They felt no reason to be around, so that is why they always frowned.

Their silent pleas and silent cries were only heard by distant flies.

So they took that silence as a yes and put their courage to the test.

For they had sense longed for death and sought to take their final breath.

And then we weep and then we cry, not knowing why they said goodbye.

But you ignored their signs and ignored their pleas, and never put their mind at ease.

If you find those in the dark, try to light them with a spark.

Because even at the end of the day, your kindness can go a long way.

If you find someone alone, pick them up and be their stone.

For once they see the light again, you’ll have saved a future friend.
