With the end of the year approaching, and graduation in a couple of months, people all around the nation are getting ready for prom. It is a chance for them to enjoy a night of dancing with their friends while nearing the end of their high school lives.

“To most, prom is solely for people with dates, but that is definitely not the case. Prom has a lot of good music, food, and time to socialize,” says junior Nathaniel Brown. Being with dates or friends on important events like prom can create more wonderful memories before you leave high school.

Prom is not just about bringing a date. This can just be a fun night to dance with your friends.

But just like everything there’s always an opposing opinion, “I think that prom is a waste of funds and is pretty overrated” says graduating senior, Amber Price.

“I am really excited for me and my boyfriend to go to the prom and wear masks, uhm yeah I really, really enjoy the masquerade theme this year,” says Junior, Yazmine Franco Santana

Even if you are not going to prom this year you have to be happy for all the graduating seniors in one of their last school-based activities before it marks the end of their high school years.
