As the headline says, this will be my last Editor’s Note. Cape Fear Voices/Teen Scene will cease operations as of December 31, 2025.
We still have some wonderful stories this month. Janet Stiegler and her daughter, Leah, wrote “Straight From the Horses’ Mouth,” and that’s exactly what it is–exploring events from the other side.
We have two new writers that I wish would have found us years ago. They write a strong message about getting along that is very timely. Read, “Pro and Con and Getting Along,” by Sandy Adams and Beth Carloni.
Maryann Nunnally explains how love can change over time, but remains strong, in her story, “Caretaker Continued.”
Gerald Decker sends us a message to support the “Veteran’s Creative Arts Program” that is timely and important. What better way to celebrate the holiday season than helping those who have served their country?
Lisa Mote suggests that we “Take Care,” of ourselves for who knows what the coming year will bring?
Dan Mask wonders about “Paradise Lost.” A theme we can all understand with the unrelenting development of our beloved beaches and scenic areas; while Dan Neizmik gives us a narrative on life long dreams in his work, “The Magic of the Club. “
Our old friend, John Gozzi, is back with a story of a pilgrimage and a strong woman, take the journey in his work, “El Camino.”
And, finally, Lennon Gray, writes about coming of age and a sense of loss in her story, “Sweet Neptune.”
I hope you enjoy our last edition.
